zero crossing rate

  1. Actually i was using this algorithm and got stuck with the fact that in the parameters what is meant by the hop length in samples ??

So i would be grateful if someone can demonstrate the hop length..
    Thanks

    • The hop length indicates the distance in time between two adjacent blocks. Let’s say you have a block length of 1024 and a hop length of 512. Then the first block will include 1024 samples starting at sample 0, the second block will include 1024 samples starting from sample 512 and so on. A different way to define this would be via the overlap (ratio).

  2. Thanks a lot! If i need any other clarifications i would like to ask you again on it!! Thanks a lot for your help on both the issues ..
